The Goldner Quartet is renowned in Australia and around the world and has long-standing recognition for excellence. The 2016 season is their 21stanniversary, an astounding accomplishment particularly as the ensemble retains the original four founding members – unique in the history of string quartets in Australia.

The Goldeners made their debut at the Wigmore Hall, in London 1997, and have performed regularly since then in the world’s most prestigious concert venues.

The Quartet regularly appears at leading music festivals around Australia, including the Australian Festival of Chamber Music where they are Quartet in Residence, and at Music in the Hunter and the Coriole Festival. The Huntington Estate Music Festival and Musica Viva’s Sydney Festival are also regular features of the Goldners’ calendar.

Recent Goldner projects have included The Quartets – a documentary with Peter Sculthorpe, and the 2011 City of London Festival broadcast on the BBC, where they attracted capacity audiences and unanimous praise from UK critics.

The Quartet have numerous critically acclaimed recordings on the Hyperion label, with pianist Piers Lane, in addition to several releases on Tall Poppies, ABC Classics and Naxos. New works have been regularly commissioned for the Goldners from many of Australia’s leading composers.
